KARMA TRAIN

takes a lot to piss me off. Normally i shrug everything off ... probably cos its not worth the time or effort to rebutt. Life is too short

but now i've got an itch i just need scratching. Seems like a few people like talking, bad gossip really, and its affecting people i care about ... i don't care about myself, but when it comes to other people, i get pissed

so here it is ... the shawny karma train ... when normal karma doesn't do a good enough job in kicking you in the ass, i'm going to do it myself

2006 is hereby decreed as 'zero bullshit' ... to the people whom i am referring to, who have ruffled my feathers enough to make this public ... have a great 2006!! I promise you it will be very interesting

NEW THINGS EVERY DAY

each time i meet one of roger's mates, there is never an ounce of disappointment. Aside from the great laughs and the good drink, you learn something new

so for yesterday, there is mie-mun, who separated herself from the couch and tv for one night to meet with us. Why was she so glued? Well for this week, channel 4 has declared it 'penis week', a festival of shows and documentaries based on penii

fascinating stuff really ... the global average of the male erect penis is 5 inches (phew, thanks dad) ... and the global average of a woman's vagina is 6 inches in depth ... so there's really only an inch between the average man and the cul-de-sac

hmmmm ... food for thought don't you reckon?

IN SEARCH OF ...

i know its a little late to be discussing new year's resolutions, but i think i've finally come up with something worthwhile. Ok, beside my promise to be more in touch with those i care for, here's something else

lets say you're at a bar, having a chat with shawn from south west australia, and he talks about the backwardation of the rotterdam diesel curve ... are you interested? HELL NO. But thats all my life is!! Taking stock of what i know, it's obvious that the answer is 'not bloody much', but if i could put a finger on something, i know how much the uk yield curve blipped this month, but thats about all ... gawd, i'm one boring fella

so here's my resolution. In search of a better, more improved shawn, i'm reading more this year. Not novels, or autobiographies, or anything more than 30 pages ... my attention span is woeful. What i have done is listed down the 10 topics which interest me the most ... for instance, travel, sports, gadgets ... and each week, i have to buy one magazine about one of those topics, and thats what i read on the tube

a simple efficient way of becoming well rounded ... so what do you think? I reckon its pretty nifty

it all started well too. Covered off on surfing, then new gadgets, then science (i understood maybe 10% of the content, but at least i tried)

unfortunately, i've also listed porn, and its been mighty tough getting the reading done on the train ... people look over your shoulder, then there's the problem of standing up once you reach your station ... man, i've had to ride some trains to the very end this week!!!

WHERE I'D RATHER BE

its snowing outside, and the wind factor has picked up just enough to make the shrinkage hurt a little more than usual. Any colder, and it might just cave its way back into the body

saw some great pics of a mate on holiday on a beach in the philippines ... that's where i'd rather be ... on the sand, renting a board, watching the waves and getting the nerve to go in there for a beating, and loving it all the same ... of course, two quid massages wouldn't hurt either

makes me wonder what is so glorious about snowboarding, or skiing for that matter, when you could rather lie on a hot beach, and take on waves all day ... well, as i've never been skiing i can't rule it out altogether. Not till i've tried it anyway

but this much is obvious ... the perving is better on a beach

THE MONTH GONE BY

January has been and gone, and damn its been quick!! Lets see, how to summarise?

2 days copenhagen, 2 days sick, 1 day work, 1 day flying, 5 days singapore, 7 days perth, 4 days singapore, 1 day flying, 4 days work, 2 days hung over, 2 days sick ... not the best of months by anybody's standards

i've been woefully out of touch, letting a number of emails hang in my inbox for the whole of the month, and one of my belated new year's resolutions has to be that i do a far better job this year of keeping in touch with the people i care about

right, be back later. More thoughts coming
